Abstract: The aim of this diploma thesis is to develop a concept for the conservation and restoration of the paintings, as well as a concept for the future presentation of the chapel interior. This work deals with the building and restoration history, and examines and documents the conservation state of the masonry and the painting plaster. A conservation concept has thus been developed, based on a careful analysis of damage phenomena and the assessment of damage causes. Part of the restoration proposal consist of various presentation concepts for the paintings. Apart from integration of missing areas in the painting, suggestions of an appropriate lighting, which are intended as part of the inpaintings, are presented.
