The table pendulum-clock from the collection of the Angermuseum Erfurt is characterised by a great variety of materials. The clock-case is made of wood. There are tin-mercury mirrors as well as brass and alabaster elements on the clock. Some wooden elements are gilded or coloured. An arched glass serves to cover the enamel clock face. The components of the clockwork consist of copper alloys and steel. The clock is characterised by stylistic features of the Empire. The clockwork is signed by the watchmaker C. F. Kuntzemüller (1799-1850), resident in Guben. As the combined result of use, aging, revisions, poor storage conditions and lack of care, the original appearance of the watch is substantially altered. Areas of material loss are manifold. The aim of the present Master-Thesis was the development of a conservation and restoration concept based on the documentation of the object´s condition and on the results of various analyses. As a result of the treatment, the watch can be presented in a well-preserved, albeit used condition. A special focus was placed on the filling of the voids. The clockwork is in a good and fully functional condition. The re-commissioning, in case of an exhibition, can be considered, provided that regular maintenance is carried out by a specialist.
