Overview:

Abstract: The purpose of this thesis is the creation of a conservation concept and a storage recommendation for an object from the city archive Hildesheim. This is an original interim binding with an incomplete innerbook, in which about a third is missing. The work initially deals with the determination, classification and evaluation of the book and its condition. Considering the current restoration ethic, a conservation concept is drawn up. This contains possible measures of conservation in storage, conservational restoration and the subsequent usability of the object. Furthermore, another copy of the book with identical content is available, which gives the opportunity to receive the interim binding as a didactic object.
