Abstract: | This diploma thesis deals with the digital documentation of archaeological excavations, which is becoming more and more important because of electronic data processing (EDP) and tachymetric surveying, both playing a growing role in archaeology. Two AutoCAD applications are presented and described. The first one is TachyCAD, a software connected on-line to a tachymeter and displaying the measured findings in real-time. The second software described is ArchäoCAD, which processes a coding fed into the tachymeter during the measurement and converts it into a drawing based on a fixed structure. By means of practical experiences the application of those two computer programs is explained and their advantages and disadvantages are pointed out. |
