Abstract: The production and painting processing of the panel cross from the 13th century, and its revision is described with regard to the technological compared examination at the front and rear. The main emphasis put on the examination and documentation of the panel cross. Reconstruction of the art historical contemplation with regard to the revision of the front in the 19th century. The results are summarized by comparing the front with the rear. Many restoration examinations give a insight into his preservation. Finally proposals for a conservation and restoration treatment as well as for the preservation are made. The conservation measures be made in February 2005.
