The Chapel of the Holy Cross in Poitiers: A Far Western Address for a Middle Eastern Relic.

Radegund, the queen and later nun who founded a monastery in Poitiers, has used high rank connections and has made many efforts to obtain a relic of the True Cross for her community. The relic arrived in 569 CE. I will argue that the translatio included a plan for the chapel dedicated to the reputed wood.
