Overview:  
Abstract: Subject of this masterthesis is the collection of electroplated reproductions from the Kunstgewerbemuseum of the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden. The submitted thesis gives an overview about construction, conservation status and manufacturing technique of electroplated reproductions. Therefore, besides the consideration of 23 objects, four reproductions from various manufacturer were examined more closely. Furthermore the handling with electrotypes in interior rooms and the situation in various museums (exhibition, state and treatment) are described. Main Part of the thesis is the development of a restoration and conservation concept, which addresses different problems of these reproductions. Therefore various cleaning and exposure techniques have been practically testet and documented.
